The grade 304L is the preferable grade that can be used in the Intergranular corrosive environment. 304L Stainless Steel is a variation of the standard 18-8 with chromium and carbon content. The low carbon content in these Stainless steel 304L Hex Bar reduces the chromium carbide precipitation due to welding and susceptible to intergranular corrosive attacks. The 304L grade is having an extra lower carbon version having a very minimal quantity of carbon content that reduces the chances of sensitization caused by welding. This alloy can easily be used in the welded condition as well. Therefore, these excellent qualities of hex bar reduce the necessity of annealing weldments except which require applications in the specific stress relief. This material also tends to work harden rapidly; thus, annealing operation is necessary to restore the ductility and lower hardness. The Stainless steel 304L Hex Bar are readily drawn and formed. The higher composition of nickel in this hex bar is well suited to severe forming operations and for multi drawing operations. It is also because of the combination of lower strength and down work hardening rates. It is from the family of austenitic grade. This Stainless steel 304L Hex Bar is welded with all standard fusion and resistance operations. However, this 304L grade is not treatable with heat treatment operations.
